What to expect in Southampton…
Southampton is known as the cruise capital of Europe due to its location on the South Coast of England in the county of Hampshire.
Southampton has something to offer all students. Whether it’s an interest in cultural activities (museums, music, venues and art galleries), beautiful parks (our Park House building overlooks this park), a variety of shops, or bars and restaurants, students certainly won’t run out of things to do in Southampton.
Southampton is currently home to over 38,000 students spread across two universities, the University of Southampton (ranked 86th in the world) and Southampton Solent University. Both Universities offer a wide range of courses for undergraduate, postgraduate and Erasmus students. The city centre is ideally situated and students can easily get around using the Unilink bus service. Southampton also has excellent transport links, with National Express and a train station with easy connections to London, Heathrow airport and Gatwick airport. Just outside the city, Southampton Airport provides good connections to Europe. So whether you are local, from the UK, or an international student, it’s easy to get to and around Southampton.
