Going to the local pub or club is not always everyone’s idea of a good night out however, as students it can often be that it’s one of the only main things to be promoted for a good time around the university cities. So here are some ideas on how to have a great night without alcohol.
Create a party of your own and organise a murder mystery night with you and some friends. Make sure everyone gets into character, dresses up and plays their part! Simple and easy but a great night in, you can even add a themed dinner alongside it. If dressing up isn’t quite your style why not go for a games night playing all the classics such as monopoly, cluedo and a personal favourite – charades. Or simply have a movie marathon night including everyone’s favourite cinema style snacks (for half the price).
Taking the night outside of the flat there are plenty of dry bars in which serve mocktails and alcohol-free drinks and is a great way to meet and socialise with others. You could also try something different, why not organise go-karting and check out your skills on the race track or see if you could be the next Torvill and Dean on the ice rink. There are even roller disco parties or paintballing events- so something for everyone’s taste! Karaoke nights are another great way to get everyone involved and have a laugh, they can be done at home as well or out in a local bar or student union just make sure no one’s allowed to shy away from it and whack out those Whitney songs.
However, for a more relaxing time search online for some student spa deals, there are always discounts and offers available and they even now open late in the evenings. Book yourself in to be pampered and use the rest of the evening to enjoy all the spa’s facilities such as pool, sauna and Jacuzzi.
Everyone can have a good time without alcohol so even if you are partial to a wild night out make sure you don’t miss out on all the other great activities available as a student- it can be easy to forget all the options that are out there.
