So that impending day is looming, A-Level results day. I’m sure you’ve put off thinking about it for a while, I know I didn’t think about it once my exams were finished and just concentrated on having fun with my friends and enjoying the summer and planning on how great it would be going to University. Then the day gets closer and you realise that maybe you won’t get the grades, then panic sets in what will you do, I don’t have a plan B. I hope you do, there are always options and places available on other courses. You just need to ask the right questions.
If you don’t get the grades you were hoping for, try not to stress about it. It might not be the end of your University experience before it’s begun, you can go through clearing to maybe find an alternative course or University.
I’ve scoured the web looking for the best advice and information to help guide you through Clearing and found this http://www.telegraph.co.uk/education/universityeducation/clearing. You should find some useful information to help you through this stage of your search, from University vacancies published on Results Day (Thursday 14th August), last minute funding applications, to live web chats and step by step guide and there is even an app to help.
Last year, a record 57,100 students gained university places through the UCAS Clearing process. At the start of Results Day a total of 145,730 applicants were eligible to go through Clearing, with places available on more than 34,000 courses.
It’s not all doom and gloom, I am sure many of you will get the results you want and your first or even second choice of University will be where you are heading in the coming months, ready to start the next exciting chapter in your life. Meeting new friends, gaining some independence and for many leaving home. More panic. Don’t worry Unilife can help and support you through this part.
